My name is Kyron Smith, I am a first year student at Thompson Rivers University. My primary reason for choosing TRU as my place of study was due to the baseball program being ran here. The head coach Ray Chadwick, a former MLB pitcher, had a huge impact on my decision to come to TRU. I hope to major in Criminology and minor in Political Sciences due to my wish to serve in the military followed by a career in law enforcement. I learned much about Canadian history in this course which will be utilized in my understanding of today’s society and its problems. This understanding cultural backgrounds is of great importance when in a field such as law enforcement where I will be forced to interact with people of different, if not opposing, ethnicity and heritage.
